How can contacts invite others to my Destination?
This article explains two ways your contacts can share a Destination internally:
1. Via the “Invite Others” button
- Enable this in Destination settings.
- Contact 1 clicks the button, enters Contact 2’s email.
- Contact 2 gets an emlen email with a personal message and the Destination URL.
- The invitation appears in Destination Analytics under “Invitations” (showing who invited whom and when).
- Contact 2 is added to Destination contacts.
- Engagement tracking depends on access settings:
- Contact tracking / Only invited contacts → engagement is assigned to Contact 2.
- Guest access → counted as a guest visit (cannot confirm it’s Contact 2).
2. By sharing the Destination URL
- Contact 1 copies or forwards the emlen link internally.
- Contact 2 clicks and visits.
- Tracking depends on access settings:
- Guest access → guest visit.
- Contact tracking → visit assigned after email entry.
- Only invited contacts → access denied (“Email address has not been invited”).
Recommendation: Use “Contact tracking” for clear tracking. This works independently from the “Invite Others” button.
